Behind the Craft

Every piece in this collection is made by hand by ceramic artisans, continuing Sri Lanka’s long tradition of decorative pottery. The mandala motif on this bowl is drawn freehand before glazing, with each fine line carefully applied by brush rather than printed.

Subtle variations in line weight, spacing, and symmetry are part of the process, making each piece distinct and carrying the mark of the hand that created it.

Product Care

The Kolam Grain Bowl is food-safe and dishwasher-safe, though hand washing is recommended to preserve the fine line detail of the painted motif over time.

To protect the surface, avoid stacking pieces without a soft cloth or felt layer between them. Do not use abrasive scrubbers on the painted interior.
