Made from 100% Palmyra leaf by artisans in Northern Sri Lanka, this open-top tote is built to be used - groceries, brunch, everything in between. The black and orange weave is vivid, the construction is solid, and somewhere in every strip of leaf is a tradition that has been alive in the North for centuries. Practical, spacious and unapologetically bold. Perferct for the ones who carry everything and still look good doing it.

Behind the Craft

Palmyra leaves are harvested, stripped, and soaked before being dyed and dried in preparation for weaving. Each strip is then worked by hand, interlaced with precision to build the structure, shape, and pattern of the bag from the base up. The two-tone effect isn't coloured or applied - it's woven in, strip by strip. Since every bag is made this way, slight variations in the weave are inevitable - not inconsistencies, just the natural result of something made entirely by human hands.

Product Care

The Palmyra tote is built to be used, but natural materials need a little care to stay at their best.

If it gets wet, let it air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight.
For surface dirt, wipe gently with a slightly damp cloth and leave to dry fully before storing.
Don't machine wash or submerge in water.
When not in use, store it upright in a cool dry place to help it hold its shape.

The more you use it, the better it wears.
